Mathematical models for describing growth in peach (Prunus persica [L.] Batsch.) fruit cv. Dorado

چکیده
Among deciduous species, the peach tree (Prunus persica [L.] Batsch.) is of great importance in high tropics. However, growth behavior this fruit for different cultivated varieties unknown. So, adjustment to double sigmoid curves assumed all even though type have been reported many cultivar. This has led misinterpretation information, impeding decision-making terms management. Non-linear regression models best describe curves, where parameters are estimated by minimizing sum squares errors. In particular, logistic model one better options correctly representing growth. Therefore, objective research was determine efficiency mathematical describing P. cv. Dorado fruits grown under conditions municipality Tuta-Boyaca. The Logistic most appropriate based on fresh or dry weight, while Gompertz suitable polar and equatorial diameters variety because they were used generate these with practical interpretations adequately represented biological process.

Quality oriented fruit breeding: Peach [Prunus persica (L.) Batsch]
Promising new tools for peach fruit quality breeding have been revised in this work. These tools included fruit quality evaluation through physical, chemical and sensorial parameters and post-harvest storage evaluation. The development of a feasible method for an early testing of peach selections generated in breeding programs is also well described together with the discussion of the inheritan...
متن کاملJASMONATES NEGATIVELY INTERFERE WITH FRUIT DEVELOPMENT AND RIPENING IN PEACH (Prunus persica L. Batsch)
Jasmonates (JAs) are signal molecules which elicit stress responses through JAs-responsive genes; they are also involved in developmental processes, including fruit growth and ripening. In the present study, methyl jasmonate (MJ) and n-propyl dyhydrojasmonate (PDJ) were applied to peach trees at the S1, S3 and S4 phases. In all cases, both chemicals inhibited climacteric ethylene production and...
متن کاملMeasurement of Indole-3-Acetic Acid in Peach Fruits (Prunus persica L. Batsch cv Redhaven) during Development.
The amount of indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) was measured in peach fruits by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry-selective ion monitoring using an isotope dilution assay with [(13)C(6)]IAA as an internal standard throughout the growing season. Ethylene evolution of the fruit was also measured. IAA levels were 25 nanograms per gram fresh weight, 18 days after anthesis. Both IAA levels and rates of ...
متن کاملIncreased levels of IAA are required for system 2 ethylene synthesis causing fruit softening in peach (Prunus persica L. Batsch)
The fruit of melting-flesh peach (Prunus persica L. Batsch) cultivars produce high levels of ethylene caused by high expression of PpACS1 (an isogene of 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid synthase), resulting in rapid fruit softening at the late-ripening stage. In contrast, the fruit of stony hard peach cultivars do not soften and produce little ethylene due to low expression of PpACS1. To e...
متن کاملGenetic Control and Location of QTLs Involved in Antioxidant Capacity and Fruit Quality Traits in Peach [Prunus persica (L.) Batsch]
In peach fruits, phenolic compounds serve as a major source of potential antioxidants which are known to play a significant role in fruit quality and in human wellbeing. This study was conducted in a F1 population derived from the cross ‘Venus’ x ‘Big Top’ nectarines in order to investigate the variability in the fruit antioxidant content and to study the genetic control and location of QTLs in...
